For over 19 years, Musical Offering, Ltd.
under the guidance of Artistic Director
Joan Parsley has been a leading producer of early music in
the Midwest. The group has received critical acclaim and become
the recipient of national education awards.
"Our mission is to foster appreciation for
early music (ca. 1580-1850) through professional performance on
historical instruments, education activities, and community
outreach.”
Anyone who has attended our concerts and
lecture series knows that the life, nature and music of
J.S. Bach and his circle are at its core. The great masterpieces
of the Baroque era have been lovingly rendered on period
instruments that our organization has acquired and
carefully maintained. More recently, beginning with the
In Harmony: At Home with Biedermeier
program, our scope was expanded beyond the Baroque repertoire to include the great composers of the Classical
and Romantic eras,
including Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. This year's series
"A
Little More Hausmusik" offers the chamber music
of 19th century London, Paris and Vienna for a musical season of
sheer delight.
Musical Offering, Ltd. sponsors both local
and nationally acclaimed artists in smaller, intimate venues. Scholars from a cross of disciplines
provide the background for a musical-cultural immersion.
With our programs, the emphasis is always on artistry,
education, intimacy, a nod towards authenticity, and the passion
of today's musician.
